Guinea pig traning
Food can be offered as a reward in the training of your pet guinea pig. The person training the the cavy should be the one who regularly feeds the animal(below).in this way, the cavy will recognize the person as a friend and will react better than it would to stranger.
To properly lift a guinea pig, use both hands, one beneath the animal and the other encircling his body near the neck and shoulders. After he becomes used to your hands, sit him in you lap or in the bend of your arm and allow him to run up your arm to you shoulder.
He can easily be taught to raise up on his hind legs and eat from your fingers. Hold the food just high enough that he has to reach up for it.by using special tidbits of his choice,he will soon know that to get the bit ,he must sit up, so as soon as soon as he does sit up, give him the food. After he ac-complished this, hold him on the palm of your left hand get him to sit up. Be careful that you don’t drop him so use your don’t drop him so use your forefinger to prop him in back and your thumb in front. gradually, as he better balances himself, lower the forefinger and thumb until he will sit up without help.
He will also waltz for you. Using your forefinger on your right rand ,use an easy shove motion at the left shoulder of your pet to get him to move in that direction. With your right rand holding a favorite bit of food, bring your fingers just far enough to his right side that he has to turn in the direction .with your right hand holding a favorite bit of food, bring your fingers just far enough to his right side that he has to turn in the direction you are shoving .as he turns, keep your finger with the food just out of his reach until he has gone in a circle. Then give him the food. When he has caught on to this trick, you can really show him off to friends.
